What is an intermediate bulk container (IBC)?

An intermediate bulk container, or IBC, is a large vessel used to store and/or transport fluids and bulk materials. IBCs can be constructed of metal, stainless-steel, plastic, or composite material.

Can Hoover CS IBCs be stacked, and if so, how high?

When not in transportation or in a warehouse filled to its maximum gross weight, Hoover CS IBCs can be stacked up to three (3) high.

What is the weight that Hoover CS stainless-steel IBCs can hold?

Hoover CS stainless-steel IBCs are rated to a 1.9 specific gravity. An IBC with a specific gravity of 1.9 can hold a liquid up to 15.75 pounds per gallon.

Where do I find the current test date? 

This information will be marked on the IBC, or near the metal serial number plate.

Are Hoover CS IBCs sustainable?

Yes! Hoover CS IBCs are 100% reusable and reduce your overall carbon footprint to help companies achieve their environmental goals.

What is the UN rating of Hoover CS liquid IBCs?

Our IBCs are UN 31 A/Y approved.

What is the longevity of a Hoover CS liquid IBC?

Hoover CS stainless-steel IBCs are built to last for 25 years or more; however, general IBC life span is dependent upon many variables, including IBC design type, the type of chemicals stored, UV exposure, and handling wear and tear.

Can Hoover CS arrange logistics for liquid IBCs?

Our IBCs are available in North America and Europe. We are happy to support our customers globally.

Can an empty Hoover CS IBC be shipped when stacked?

Yes, if the IBC has been design-tested for stacking and marked accordingly. Hoover CS does not recommend stacking filled IBCs when transporting.

What is the tare weight of a stainless-steel IBC?

Tare weight varies by size. The tare weight can be found on the serial number plate on the front of the IBC.

Can a Hoover CS liquid IBC be pressurized?

No, liquid IBCs are not designed to be pressure vessels.

Are Hoover CS IBCs reusable?

Yes, Hoover CS IBCs are reusable and contribute to supply chain circularity.

How many empty stainless-steel IBCs will fit on a trailer?

  • 350-gallon IBCs – 48 in a standard 48′ trailer
  • 350-gallon IBCs – 52 in a standard 53′ trailer
  • 550-gallon IBCs – 24 in a standard 48′ trailer
  • 550-gallon IBCs – 26 in a standard 53′ trailer

Catalyst Bins

What is a Catalyst Bin?

A Catalyst Bin is a vessel used to unload, store, and transport fresh, spent, and presulfided catalysts. Hoover CS Catalyst Bins are a proven alternative to drums, enabling refiners to unload their catalyst in an efficient, less time-consuming, and safe way.

Why should I choose a Catalyst Bin for my catalyst storage/application?

What is the max gross weight of a Catalyst Bin?

Max gross weight varies by size. The max gross weight can be found on the serial number plate on the front of the Catalyst Bin.

Can a Hoover CS Catalyst Bin be pressurized?

No, are not designed to be pressure vessels. According to UN regulations, Hoover CS Catalyst Bins are leak tested every 2.5 years at 0.2 bar.

What lifting accommodations exist on Hoover CS Catalyst Bins?

We offer two-way and/or four-way forklift entry with two (2) or (4) lifting lugs.

How are Hoover CS Catalyst Bins loaded/unloaded?

All Catalyst Bins are loaded through the top, while unloading is done through the bottom discharge opening. The only exceptions are Inverter Bins & Spa Bins, which require rotation for unloading.

How many empty Catalyst Bins will fit on a trailer?

Trailer and transportation regulations differ by country, so please contact us, or reach out to your local Hoover CS representative for guidance.

Are Hoover CS Catalyst Bins reusable?

Yes, Hoover CS Catalyst Bins are reusable.

Does Hoover CS offer services for Catalyst Bins?

What is the longevity of a Hoover CS ISO Tank?

Hoover CS ISO Tanks have a lifespan of 15-20 years or longer, depending on the chemical or liquid type.
